Hi9 is committed to bringing the benefits of AI into the cultural sector. Not only is it a touchless way to interact with museum exhibits, therefore maintaining infection control, it also enables reminiscence therapy – a key aspect of our health sector work – and promotes the forming of connections, despite any physical isolation.
Working with the Cornwall Museum Partnership, museums and galleries, Hi9 has built ‘Cornish Tales’, an Alexa skill that incorporates Cornish songs and audio interviews into an interactive narrative. Read more here.
More recently, we have been working with St Agnes Museum to design an interactive exhibit called ‘Turtle Dash’. In this, participants will use hand gestures to converse with the museum’s Leatherback Turtle, discovering how he ended up in the museum, and attempting to complete the turtle’s journey of migration from the Caribbean to the UK.
Having completed this exploratory work, we now have a number of successful processes and templates which could be applied to other projects. We are always keen to hear from any cultural initiatives, no matter how small, so if you would like to more about how AI could transform your museum, please do not hesitate to get in touch!
